What’s in my bag… Lady Dior

Let’s talk about what fits in my medium Lady Dior.

I know you are asking yourself why I have 4 card holders instead of a wallet… I have certain cards in each and it lets me transition easily into a smaller bag because I can leave the nonessential cards out of a smaller bag. But the Lady Dior holds all of my stuff. I am using my LV Mini Pochette as a catch all with my lipstick, lip balm, EarPods, hand cream, charging cords & eye drops. I am also able to add my sunglasses 😎 in a soft case.

Hermes In-Store: A 2nd Chance at the San Francisco Location

I previously wrote about my visit to the Hermes store in Palo Alto where I was completely ignored. I had doubts as to whether I would get service in any store. I of course have made a couple of online purchases, but I was hoping to making contact in person so I could ask questions about the leathers/fabrics, try-on and just establish a relationship for future questions. So I went into the San Francisco Union Square store which is in a temporary location.

I went in to the show wanting to look at card cases and to buy a small scarf ring (and maybe a new scarf). I walked through the shop to get an overview of where things are in this temporary location. I had some concern since no one really acknowledged me when I walked in (just like at the other store)…. but here were several customers and the location is quite choppy with several separate rooms with different types of items.

As I looked in the case with wallets and card cases, an SA came over to help me. He was patient with all my questions on the choices of wallets and leather types. He also was great with suggesting scarves.

In the end, I was quite happy with my experience at the SF location of Hermes. I left the store with a Calvi Card Holder in Rose, a Chain d’ Ancre scarf ring and a beautiful scarf in black/beige/blue tones. My SA was patient and kind and I will probably go back to that location. On a side note… I also saw a woman being offered a Berkin, but she didn’t like the color (a beautiful grey-ish/taupe color) and she asked her SA if she could get one in a different color. Crazy.

Search for a Serum – May/June

Let’s talk skin care…. so many things to consider. From cleansers, toners, serums, eye creams, moisturizers and so much more— where does a girl even start? I decided to start with serums. I feel like eye creams and serums are crucial to my skin, so I will start there.

About my skin: I don’t have super sensitive skin, but it is combination and changes with the seasons – drier in fall/winter and slightly oily in spring/summer. I am sensitive to added fragrances, so that is a big consideration in my choices.

Based on reviews (on Sephora.com), my first trial is Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. The Sephora site describes it as good for multiple skin types and as helping with dryness, dullness, uneven texture and loss of firmness… all things I look for in a serum. It is also described as being made without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates which is a plus. It contains vitamin C and collegen which can contribute to brightening and hydration.

My thoughts: The texture/feel of this serum is a smooth gel. This is especially good as it is cooling to the touch. For me it was absorbed quickly and made my skin ready for my moisturizer. My face did not feel tight or oily, simply a smooth canvas for makeup in daytime. After using for a few weeks, my skin does appear to have the beginning effects of using a product with vitamin C and I will continue until I finish the bottle and give an update if there is more visible change. The only negative I have is that there is a strong scent/fragrance to the product. It is a orange/citrus smell so that doesn’t bother me. My concern is that “parfum/fragrance” is the 10th ingredient, which means there is quite a lot in there. This would be an ideal product for me if there were much less or no fragrance as my skin is a bit sensitive to added scents. If fragrance is not a concern for you, this would be a great serum to try. The brand website also has a small version so you can try with out spending more on the full size bottle.

I have another serum in line to try out, so stay tuned. Thank you so much for reading. I would be grateful if you could like this post and blog — and even share you have another skin care lover in your life. Feeling Fendi

Let’s talk about Fendi… I am loving what #Fendi is doing right now! I am seriously having 90’s fabulous flashbacks right now with the #fendibaguette and loving this belt bag for those days when my dress/skirt doesn’t have pockets!

Handbag of the Day- 17 January, 2019

Let’s talk about my current favorite handbag…my Diorama in Grey with light gold hardware. I so love this bag! I really wanted a Chanel Boy, but it was just too bulky, heavy and the chain was too big…. I tried on the Diorama and was instantly in LOVE ❤️😍! It is the perfect size for me with a chain strap that is light and gorgeous.

I wore it with a Halogen x Atlantic Pacific blazer (it is my Balmain dupe) in will with shine gold buttons. On my lapel, I wore my Chanel CC and Kate Spade Trellis Blooms Flower brooches. I also have a Pucci scarf with my Hermes scarf ring. In the background you can see a peek of my Tory Burch Robinson Leather Tote in Pink that I use for work.

Handbag of the week

My lovely LV Pochette Metis with an LV Twilly!

I took this beauty out on the town this week.  It was great because I had to travel on the train to my workshop in San Francisco.  I also tried my hand at the art of the twilly (LV Stories BB Bandeau in nude) again.  So happy that I FINALLY got my hands on this Pochette Metis in monogram.  Loving the top handle and the super comfortable crossbody strap.  Have a happy week everyone.

Advent Calendars- The Remix!

Not quite sure why advent calendars with something other than cheap chocolates are so hard to find in the US.  I watch my favorite bloggers/vloggers showing the fun beauty calendars with envy.  Last year was the 1st time I got my hands on one from L’Occitane and loved it! I also gifted it to some friends/family!

This year I searched hard for one for me and one for my husband.  For him, I was able to find a “Ginvent” advent calendar.  Of course it is a hit, I mean who doesn’t like adorable bottles of gin?! One hint is that some sites don’t ship to every country, so be sure to search with where you want the calendar to go.  I was excited to find one from Molten Brown.  My lovely best friend bought it for me! This is perfect for me to try new scents & have special travel sized toiletries! It has shower gels, candles and fragrance! I can’t wait to open all of the boxes! I will post pics as I open it!

Fun Stocking Stuffer Ideas

A tradition that my husband and I enjoy are getting treats for our stocking.  It can be challenging because of the size. We try to get a mix of fun & silly and nice things.  There are some great sales out there at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales and other great stores and websites out there. Here are some ideas to make digging into the stockings fun for everyone.

Treats for the Ladies:

Jo Malone London(TM) Miniature Candle Collection This is great to give to one person or break up the set to treat your office mates.

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette  I love makeup and Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorites.  Her eyeshadow palettes are beautiful.  The lipsticks are lovely as well! She has a lovely advent calendar as well!

Kate Spade New York Lanyard So she can wear her work badge in style!

Gucci Ophidia Suede Card Case For your favorite girl boss!

Fun Stuff for the Fellas:

Men’s Hook + Albert Small Lapel Flower This flower will add a little something to the lapel of a jacket.  My husband has a few of them that adds a pop of color.

Men’s Loewe Calfskin Leather Zip Wallet Men often don’t change wallets in the same way that we do to fit in our purses and because it lives in their pocket, it can show wear.  This flat style is wallet is good to wear both in a front or back pocket and the zip comes in handy according to my husband.

Powerbeats³ Wireless Headphones These are just great headphones.

Men’s Saint Laurent Studded Card Holder Because everyone with a business card needs a stylish card holder.

Gifts for Everyone:

Bombas Socks (get 20% off your 1st order) These socks are incredible and they donate one to someone in need for every pair you buy.  There are a variety of styles for women, men & children.

Budley (Amazon) These are great for anyone who hates when their ear buds get into a tangled mess! There is also a multi-pack on Amazon for a great price!

Desktop Mug Warmer (Amazon) This is dual purpose gift! It not only is great to keep your coffee warm at your desk. But it can also be used to warm a candle in your office (um, you cannot have open flame at work!). It would be a great combination gift with a  Jo Malone Orange Blossom candle!

November 2018 Beauty

Let’s talk beauty! It’s the time of the year when you are working on your wish list, buying gifts and having people over.  I have been trying and loving some new and some favorites this month.  The Sephora VIB sale gave me the opportunity to try some stuff for 20% off!  I will follow-up with some gift idea lists soon.  Here is what I have got for you!

farmacygreen.jpgLa Mer The Lip BalmJMminicandlesetJMorangebittersurbandecaynakedcherry-e1541480685164.jpeg
Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm  : Long name-great balm! I have been looking for a make-up removing solution and decided to research and try some balms.  I am also always on the lookout for stuff that is good for the planet and my skin – especially on my sensitive face! This has a beautiful green hue with a neutral smell.  It comes with a little white spatula for scooping — which is essential to not “contaminate” the entire pot! The texture is smooth and was effective at taking ALL my makeup off! I would definitely recommend this!

La Mer The Lip Balm : I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a lip balm that doesn’t irritate my lips.  I have probably tried 10 new ones in the last 6 months! I saw this lippy on several bloggers’/YouTuber’s lists.  I will admit the price is just dumb, but I feel like I spend good $$ on my eyes and face so why not my lips as well.  I am glad to have the 20% discount! I will definitely buy it again during sale or bonus times.  It has a smooth texture and felt good on my lips.  Most importantly,  I didn’t have a reaction so I will continue with it.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette : I have been loving rosey hues for eyeshadow… so this palette was right up my street! I  am loving it so far! The color payoff is great in the matte and shimmer… a step-up from the other Naked palettes (in my opinion).

Jo Malone London Orange Bitters Cologne: OMG I love this scent! Jo Malone does it yet again with this limited edition cologne.  I am so glad I got my hands on a bottle of this (and the Candle!) I don’t even know how to describe this scent… it is citrus and fall smells wrapped in one.

Hope this has been helpful. I will be back soon with a gift guide or two!
